Albert J. Cortez, 84, went to be with our Lord on Friday, July 17, 2015.
He was a veteran of the United States Army and served during the Korean War. He retired from the Transit Department of the City of Albuquerque. Albert was a loving and caring husband, father, brother and grandfather.
He is preceded in death by his son Aaron Cortez.
Albert is survived by his wife of 58 years, Florinda Cortez; sons Anthony Cortez and Angelo Cortez and wife Norma; sisters Angelina Gurule and Margarita Armijo and husband Luis; fourteen grandchildren; eighteen great grandchildren; Larry Gonzales, Edward Chavez, Ray Vargus, and Sam Gallegos; and many friends.
Albert's Life Celebration will begin with a Rosary on Friday, July 24, 2015 at 6:00 p.m. at St. Therese Church. A Final Viewing will be held on Saturday, July 25, 2015 at 8:30 a.m. at St. Therese Church, followed by a Mass at 9:00 a.m. Burial will be held at Mount Calvary Cemetery following Services.
Pallbearers will be Mario Cortez, Jacob Cortez, Jerrid Cortez, Lorenzo Cortez, Angelo Cortez Jr., and Alijah Givan. Honorary pallbearers will be Raymond Cortez, Edward Chavez, Ray Vargus, Israel Cortez, and Andrew Chavez.
