Anne Marie Wheeler

Anne Marie (Cavarerro) Wheeler born in Santa Monica California on February 1, 1922 made her way to heaven on Sunday, January 10, 2021 at her home surrounded by her children.

Anne was lovingly called Mom, Nona, Queen Mother, Grandma Nona, and Grammie Nona.

She is survived by her four children: Pat Finnegan (Hugh Burgess), Sharon Wheeler, Kelly Wheeler (Kris Waller Wheeler), and Kacee Ramirez (Ron); seven grandchildren : Kelly Riley (Matt), Michael Finnegan (Tamara), Patrick Finnegan(Tybi), Kerri Graham(Tom) , Kristopher Wheeler (Tiffany), Ken Lujan (Sally), John Ramirez, and 10 great grandchildren: Lauren Riley, Courtney Riley, Abigail Finnegan, Alexander Baca, Rafi Baca, Ruxin Graham, Titus Graham, Kaliyah Lujan, Kailen Lujan, and Kroix Lujan.

Anne was the last surviving of 7 children born of immigrant parents. She spent the majority of her life in Southern California. In recent years  she relocated to  Albuquerque to be near family.

Her love of sports nurtured a spirit of leadership and teamwork which she passed on to her children and grandchildren. A loyal friend, her door was always open. She always made sure there was enough to go around. German Chocolate Cake was her specialty. She was totally devoted to her family and a role model to many. Just a phone call away whenever you needed her help. Her bag was always packed. Whatever you needed, it was probably in her purse.

Her children appreciate the firm foundation she laid in their Christian faith. Her life reflected the fruits of the Spirit in love, peace, joy, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self control. That was NONA!

Anne's Life Celebration will begin with a Visitation on Thursday, January 14, 2021 from 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm in the Reflection of Life® Chapel of Reflections Funerals and Life Celebrations/Salazar Funeral Homes & Crematory located at 2400 Washington St NE, 87110. A private Rosary will be recited at 6:00 pm. Funeral Rite will take place on Friday, January 15, 2021 at 10:00 am at Prince of Peace Catholic Church located at 12500 Carmel Ave NE, 87122. Anne will be laid to rest at 11:30 am at the Gate of Heaven Cemetery located at 7999 Wyoming Blvd. NE, 87109.

Due to the COVID restrictions set in place by the governor masks are MANDATORY to attend Anne's Visitation, Service, and Burial. Reflections Funerals and Life Celebrations/Salazar Funeral Homes & Crematory has a capacity of 5 people allowed inside the funeral home at one time. We ask that attendees wait INSIDE of their vehicles until we are ready for the next group of 5 to come in. Prince of Peace has a capacity of 150 people.
