Ann Kristin (Arthur) MacPhail died peacefully at her home in Albuquerque, NM on 2/27/22 at the age of 89.
She is predeceased her loving husband of 59 years Albert MacPhail.
Ann is survived by three children: Alan (Kim), Laura (Russ Tanzer) and Brian (Janet); grandchildren: Megan, Rory, Kevin, James, Alex; great-grandchildren: Iris and Jenna, several cousins and nieces and nephews, and her Siamese cat Sheba.
She lived in Ohio, Michigan, Cape Cod / Massachusetts, Missouri and Germany and most recently with roommates and caregivers Laura and Russ in Albuquerque. She and Albert took their children on many back-packing, cross-country skiing and sailing trips, and traveled extensively all over Europe, to Alaska, New Zealand, the Galapagos, Bahamas and BVI, Nova Scotia and everywhere in between. She and Albert met in Ann Arbor where she got her degree in English literature and Albert got his MD. She loved her Michigan Wolverines, TB 12, the Red Sox, Tiger Woods, MJ, Nathan Chen, reading, traveling, classical music and birding, but mostly Albert.
She was an accomplished quilter with an artistic flair. She was a well-loved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, etc. and will be sorely missed. The Audubon and Humane Societies were a couple of her favorite causes.
There will be a private gathering at a later date to spread her ashes in Pleasant Bay to be reunited with her husband.
