Apearl Mitchell

April 7, 1995 — March 3, 2024

Apearl Mitchell, a vivacious spirit of joy and love, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family in Albuquerque, New Mexico, on March 3, 2024. Born on April 7, 1995, in Overland Park, Kansas, Apearl's life was a canvas of vibrant hues, reflecting her passion for life and the arts.

Apearl was preceded in death by her beloved grandmother Marcelyn Gilbert, grandfather Edward Gilbert, and was welcomed home by many other cherished family members who preceded her.

She is survived by her loving father Doug Mitchell; mother Cheryl Mitchell; stepmother Phyllis Mitchell; her devoted fiancé Ryan Benitez; grandmother, Virginia Grooms; caring brothers Andrew Mitchell, Marc Mitchell, Phillip Mitchell; and adoring sister Sachel Mitchell.

From her earliest years, Apearl embraced every moment with a heart full of optimism and kindness. Her interests were a mirror to her soul; she found solace and happiness in dressing up, dancing, singing, and immersing herself in music. Apearl's presence was akin to a melody that uplifted the spirits of all who had the pleasure to know her.

Family was the core of Apearl's universe. The bond Apearl shared with her fiancé, Ryan, was profound and life-affirming, grounded in a mutual love and respect that shone brightly in every facet of their lives. As they eagerly anticipated their upcoming marriage, their relationship was a beautiful testament to their shared dreams and aspirations. Ryan was more than her partner; he was her rock, her confidante, and her greatest supporter. Their journey together, along with the joy she found in her dog Marco's companionship and the unwavering bond with her relatives, wove a rich tapestry of devotion, warmth, and shared laughter—especially cherished during gatherings around the table for her beloved sweets and Mexican cuisine.

Apearl found satisfaction in pursuing a well-rounded education, specializing in pharmacy technician programs and earning certificates in veterinary studies. Going to college for something she loved was a testament to her strength and determination, marking a significant accomplishment in her pursuit of happiness and adventure. The world was her oyster, and she explored it with zest and an unwavering smile.

Indeed, to call Apearl a miracle would be fitting. She navigated life's highs and lows with unparalleled grit—an inspiration to all. She cherished her collections of owls and plushies, each one a cherished companion on her journey, and a testament to her playful spirit and love for the whimsical.

Apearl's faith in the Lord Jesus Christ was profound. Her life story reflects the parable from which her name was inspired: "Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto a merchant man, seeking goodly pearls: Who, when he had found one pearl of great price, went and sold all that he had, and bought it" (Matthew 13:45). This verse is not just a part of her name's origin but a reflection of her life's journey—treasuring faith as one treasures a pearl of great price.

1 Thessalonians 4:13-15

1 Corinthians 15:39-53
