William Andrew Baca, 72, passed away peacefully in his home on Thursday, July 18, 2019 surrounded by his family.
He was born to parents Eustacio and Bessie Baca, on November 30, 1946, in Winslow, Arizona. Bill graduated from Winslow High School in 1965 and then served his country honorably as a member of the 25th Infantry Division of United States Army. A lifelong fan of all sports, he rarely passed up an opportunity to play baseball, bowl, golf, cheer on his favorite football and basketball teams or hit the race track.
He is survived by his wife Judith Baca, as well as his daughter Dennette Hernandez and husband Greg; daughter Geraldine Magnell and husband Keith; step-daughter Jessica Longman and husband Jerry; granddaughters Kaylah Nicole Baca, Hayden Michelle Magnell, Rebecca Martinez-Baca; and grandson Emmanuel Martinez-Baca.
Bill’s Life Celebration will begin with a Rosary to be recited on Thursday, July 25, 2019 at 6:30 pm at Risen Savior Catholic Church located at 7701 Wyoming Blvd. NE, 87109. Mass will be held on Friday, July 26, 2019 at 11:00 am at Risen Savior Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Mount Calvary Cemetery located at 1900 Edith Blvd NE, 87102. A reception at the Risen Savior Parish Hall will be held immediately following the Burial. The church requests that NO eletrical warmers (i.e. crock pots or other warmers) be brought for the reception. Please use sterno warmers only.
Bill’s family requests that condolence donations in support of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Fund (www.vvmf.org) be made in lieu of sending flowers.
