Billie Jean (Vaughn) Deuschle, age 87, left this earth Saturday, July 30, 2016, with a clap of thunder & a bolt of lightning surrounded by those she loved. Heaven opened its doors and welcomed her, as did her mother and father, Frank & Florence Vaughn, her husband of 46 years, Bill Deuschle, and her sister & gambling buddy, Nita Wigal.
Billie spent her life working as a bookkeeper. She worked for Lydick Roofing before taking a job with Peat, Marwick, Mitchell where she was known as "Billie the Bookkeeper." She retired after 25 years with the company. In retirement, Billie loved to golf and played weekly. At the age of 67 she had her first hole in one. She followed that one with 3 more. She was an active member of many of the women's golf leagues around the area. Her golfing friends were always thrilled when they got to play with her. Billie's wonderful positive attitude on life and her infectious laugh impacted everyone around her.
She will be missed, but never forgotten, by her only child, Diane (Deuschle) Diaz, and, her son-in-law & favorite weatherman, Joe Diaz; her 2 grandsons she adored, Steven & David Diaz; and her brother, Frank Vaughn. She also leaves behind a step-son, Bill Deuschle, grandchildren & great-grandchildren, Dan & Nina Lewis, Channing, Tanner, & Logan; Will & Eliza Barclay & Blake; and Matt Cloven & Miles. She was blessed to have nieces and nephews, Ben & Pam Wigal and Donna & George Coen, in her life.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests a donation to your favorite charity in Billie's name. Her celebration of life will take place at the Ladera Golf Course Banquet Room, Sunday, September 25, 2016 starting at 11 am.
