Brian Douglas Butler went home to Heaven on March 11, 2018 after fighting an almost 2 year battle with a malignant brain tumor. He is already missed by so many that he leaves behind — Christine, his wife of 26 years, Daniel (21), his oldest son who follows his dad in the field of mechanical engineering, and his youngest son, Ben (19), who follows his dad in business. He is also survived by his sister, Linda Butler, and her husband, Jaime Cruz. In addition to his parents, William and Sandra Butler. Brian is also predeceased by his
older brother Scott Butler.

How do you sum up a life? Certainly not in a few paragraphs …
All who knew Brian would say that he had a special personality, a mix of quiet reservation but also a spirit of adventure. A desire to be positive, to excel at what he did, and a heart to be thankful to God for all things.

Brian was gifted with an intelligence that earned a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering at the University of New Hampshire. His abilities to apply and understand technology led him to a robotics focus which later served him when he established Introbotix Corp. After Brian graduated in 1983, he worked for Simtran Corp. and traveled around the world training and educating many in the oil industry on simulators. His passport testifies to the adventures as it includes stamps from China, Russia, Singapore, the Netherlands, and many more.

Brian was gifted with the ability to listen, whether it was a business or a personal relationship many of you know first hand his desires to let others speak first and to take the time necessary to understand and empathize. He was an encourager that made you feel that you were able to handle and solve your situation but was always ready to help you with advice, with prayer or in any other way.

Brian delighted in being in God’s creation. If a sport allowed Brian to be outdoors he was ready— whether it was sailing, canoeing, hiking, walking on the beach, bicycling, playing disc golf, golfing or even just watching a sunset or a sunrise. Brian knew the awe and wonder of God’s handiwork but more importantly he praised God for that beauty, for the majesty of mountains and canyons to the simplicity of a butterfly or the scent of a rose— often on neighborhood walks he did actually ’stop to smell the flowers”.

Brian was born in Dearborn, Michigan but grew up in Massachusetts. While living and exploring New England he acquired a taste for seafood, became a New England Patriots & Boston Red Sox fan, and learned how to sail and surf cast. Brian and Christine married in 1991, after a few years first Daniel joined the family and then Ben. In 1999, the family moved to Albuquerque so Brian could start a manufacturing business- Introbotix Corporation. A technical company in the Printed Wiring Board industry that utilized Brian’s experiences and skills in leadership, sales, marketing, business, and accounting as well as his knowledge and passions for mechanical, electrical and robotic engineering. Did I say my husband was intelligent?

And yet above else… Brian was gifted with faith. Brian loved God. It was that simple. He loved and trusted in Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior. He would say that he would rather have a spiritual discussion than any other type. Brian had a heart and a desire to step out and give of himself, his time, and his resources. Taking time to either volunteer, participate, or support many Christian based organizations. At Sagebrush Church he led a weekly men’s Bible group, he helped clean and do setup at the school campus to get ready for service times on Sundays, and participated in prayer walks and outreach programs to neighborhood communities. He actively supported Faith Comes By Hearing, Joni & Friends Wheels Around the World, Peaceful Habitation, and others. In addition, Brian became an active member of FCCI (Fellowship of Companies for Christ International). In doing so, Brian acknowledged that Introbotix belonged to God, and the he himself was only the steward. He started leading his own FCCI weekly mens group, and supported the introduction of FCCI to the Phoenix marketplace.

Brian leaves a legacy to all of us in many ways…. as an entrepreneur, businessman, loyal friend, loving husband, supportive father, and yet…Brian’s most valuable legacy is that he was a servant of the Lord. Brian talked it, walked it and lived it out for all of us to follow. He shared his love of Jesus with family, friends and even strangers, He prayed for family, friends and strangers. Brian showed us what it means to die to oneself and to live for Christ. God welcomed him into heaven as a good and faithful servant.
And now he Lives With Christ.
