Cecilia T. Martinez

Through the years there has been a warmth, a light, and an integral part that has held our family together with her unconditional love. The one individual that all of us knew that we could turn to for anything and who would give everything that she had. The loss that we feel cannot be expressed in words. Our light, our warmth, is lost. Our loss will never be filled, and she will always be remembered. This was our mom, our grandmother, our great grandmother, our friend, Cecilia Theresa Martinez.

Cecilia T Martinez was born on December 2, 1940 and lost her battle with cancer on May 7, 2015. She joins her mother Celia, father Ezequiel, and son Leon. She leaves behind her husband of 52 years, Robert Martinez, and her children Roxanna, Rosemarie, Rosella, Mark and her grandchildren Leona, Gerald, Alicia, Doug, Monica, Josh, Eric, Joseph, Robert, and her great-grandchildren Aspen, Mia, Angelo, Daxden, Andrew, and Nevaeh.

Cecilia T Martinez was born and raised in Albuquerque. She married in April of 1963 and proceeded to help her husband design and build several houses throughout the Los Lunas and Belen area. She returned to her childhood home in her final months, bringing her closer to her family who she dearly loved.


Cecilia's Life Celebration will begin with a Rosary at San Felipe de Neri on Thursday, May 14 at 7:00 p.m. A Mass will be held on Friday, May 15 at 10:00 a.m. also at San Felipe de Neri, followed by burial at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. A reception will follow at the Albuquerque Museum at 2000 Mountain Road.
