Celia Gurule

March 2, 1919 — June 3, 2014

During the days that made the years, and years that made the decades, we always felt something loving, warm, wonderful, and understanding. It was a feeling that became familiar to us. It was a feeling that made us warm during cold days, and gave us strength in our weakest moments. Now that our mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, Celia Gurule, has left us, we know that she was the source and center of that feeling. Every room will always be a little emptier, the chile a little cooler, and our hearts a little heavier without her. No words will ever express our love and appreciation for her. She has had a profound and unimaginable effect on all of our lives and we will always be grateful to have known such an extraordinary person. Our mother. Our grandmother. Our great grandmother.
Celia G Gurule was born on March 2, 1919 and died June 3, 2014. She joins her husband Ezequiel, son Leon, and all 11 of her siblings. She leaves behind her daughter Cecilia and son-in-law Robert Martinez, her grandchildren Roxanna, Rosemarie, Rosella and Mark, Leona, and Gerald, her great-grandchildren Alicia and Doug, Monica and Josh, Eric, Joseph, Robert, Andrew, and Nevaeh, and great-great-grandchildren Aspen, Mia, Angelo, and Daxden.
Celia G Gurule was born and raised in Peralta. As a newly wed with her husband off fighting the Second World War, she moved to a little house in Old Town, where she has lived for the past 69 years.
Services will be held at San felipe de Neri. Rosary to start at 7:00pm on June 10th, the funeral on Wednesday June 11th at 9:00am, and the burial in Santa Fe at 1:30pm.
