Charles "Chuck" Candelaria

August 28, 1934 — May 11, 2016

Charles"Chuck" Candelaria went to be home with our Lord on May 11, 2016.

He was a loving father and grandfather. He was preceded in death by his parents Rose and Bernard Candelaria and his adopted sister Rose and dear friend Maggie from Jemez. He is survived by his only daughter Mayline; three grandchildren Edward, Justin and Rayline and two grandsons from MI; his only brother Donald from Ajo, AZ; his extended family the Toledos from Jemez and the love of his life and constant companion Cecilia Zamora.

He passed away peacefully after a long and courageous battle following brain surgery. He fought hard to stay with loved ones. He loved his "Dear Lord" and America. Charles grew up knowing and respecting the flag and America. He proudly served his country in the US Air Force. After his military service he lived in Alaska for eight years where he became a Mason and a Shriner. He was also a great Golfer, bowler, dancer and member of the Solo Club. He will be missed and remembered always by his family and friends.

Charles's Life Celebration will begin with at Visitation on Thursday, May 19, 2016 at 8:00 a.m. followed by a Rosary at 8:30 a.m. and Funeral Service at 9:00 a.m. all at Salazar Mortuary. Military burial will follow at 11:15 a.m. at the Santa Fe National Cemetery.
