Chelsea Amber Bristol was unexpectedly taken to be with the Lord on Sunday, July 7, 2024 at the age of 34, far too young, but clearly far too precious to God to be kept here on earth one moment longer.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents Walter and Dorothy LaMondy, uncle Jay LaMondy, and Greg’s parents Gail Mihm and Billy Joe Bristol, whom she never met.
She is survived by her parents Gregory and Colette Bristol, her cousin who truly was more of a brother Dustin LaMondy and his wife Savanna, and their children Elijah and Elianna. Though she had no children of her own yet, her dogs, Toby and Calypso (Callie), were her babies and she loved them beyond measure. Her parents have vowed to care for their grand-dogs and give them the best possible life as Chelsea’s beautiful soul lives on in her heavenly home.
Chelsea was born on April 9, 1990, three days past her due date, in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Chelsea started out as a custodian at Sandia National Laboratories on July 8, 2019 and worked her way up to a Records Management Technician in 2022, where she worked converting important historical documents in Sandia’s history to electronic format. She enjoyed her job and enjoyed the people she worked with. She was proud to work at Sandia, providing exceptional service in the national interest, and her parents were so proud of her accomplishments in her short tenure at the Labs. She died just two days shy of her 5 year Sandia anniversary. Her future was going to be so bright.
Chelsea was a lifelong gamer, ever since she got her first Game Boy in the early 90s. She loved her Nintendo Switch, she enjoyed RPG video games, was a staunch PlayStation fan, loved board games, and had recently started showing an interest in DND, role-playing, and strategy games. She had saved up and just bought a PS5 in April and was looking forward to beating her new games, one of which was Baldur’s Gate 3. She was a talented artist and had a passion for drawing. She was honing her skills of drawing electronically on a Samsung tablet and was getting really good at layering and shading. She liked the fantasy genre, and enjoyed drawing dragons, elves and fairies, but could draw anything. Her mother’s most prized pieces of art that Chelsea gifted to her were a charcoal drawing of a raven, a computer drawing of a kraken, a pen and ink drawing of a corgi, and her latest, a computer drawing of a raven drawn on her new tablet. She loved animals, especially dogs, wolves, foxes, ravens, and interestingly enough, Narwhals. She had such compassion for animals that she couldn’t bear to watch movies where any animals perished. She loved all types of music, anything from classical, The Coasters to Coheed and Cambria, to Wind Rose, which is a genre called Dwarf Metal. She was lucky to be able to travel with her dear friend Autumn Flanery to see her favorite band, My Chemical Romance, and we are so glad she was able to fulfill that dream of seeing them in concert. She loved to read and loved so many movies. Her favorite movie of all time was Jurassic Park. She would watch it at least once a month and could recite the entire movie script by heart. She loved Lord of the Rings series, the Hobbit series, Harry Potter series, the original Star Wars before it the franchise was ruined after it was bought by Disney (for which she as never forgiven them), any movie with Johnny Depp, Godzilla Minus One, many more. She was incredibly intelligent and could dissect plots as well as Siskel and Elbert. We loved watching movies together, but it was hard sometimes because she would pick apart the errors and plot flaws, when all we wanted to do was watch for entertainment value. She didn’t want to waste her time with poorly written scripts and drivel. We believe she missed her calling as a movie critic. :)
She was such a sensitive, loving, and compassionate soul. She was fiercely loyal to her friends that stuck with her and would do anything for them. Chelsea touched the lives of so many and brought joy to all. She had a delightfully sarcastic sense of humor, was quick-witted, and loved making people laugh. She was a very ‘clever girl’ (just as the velociraptor was called in Jurassic Park) who kept us in stitches.
We will miss that most of all. Her radiant smile, her laughter, and her pure spirit will live on in our hearts forever. Go and fly with the angels, baby girl, and say hi to Grandma, Grandpa, and Uncle Jay for us. We can’t wait to see you again.
