Chris A. Trujillo, 58, passed away on Tuesday, April 19, 2016.
He was born on December 3, 1957 in Albuquerque, NM, resided in Santa Fe, NM for many years, and was currently living in Albuquerque.
Chris is preceded in death by his parents Porfirio and Cordelia Trujillo and siblings Laura Gallegos, Porfie, and Johnny Trujillo.
He is survived by his sons Bobby, Eric and Brandon Trujillo; ex-wife Irene Trujillo; three granddaughters all from Santa Fe, NM; sisters Lydia Paiz, Cirila Leal (Richard) and Kathy Trujillo of Albuquerque, NM; and brother Gilbert Trujillo of Beeville, TX. Also many nieces and nephews and many, many good friends. We will all miss him greatly.
Chris served in the U.S. Marine Corps for four years and had a career as a Law Enforcement Officer. He started at the NM State Penitentiary on 1980 and became a Bernalillo County Sheriff Deputy in 1985. He retired and then served three police Missions with the United Nations in Kosovo. He was currently working with the Bernalillo County Juvenile Center. He was an avid fisherman, hunter, golfer, runner, and cyclist. Most importantly he was a good friend ready to help anyone with any project. As a friend said "he didn't have a lazy bone in his body."
Chris' Life Celebration will begin with a Visitation on Tuesday, April 26, 2016 at 8:30 a.m. at Holy Family Parish on Atrisco Dr. SW, followed by a Rosary at 9:30 a.m. and Mass at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow Services at 3:00 p.m. at Santa Fe National Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be John McKenna, Stanley Moya, Ben Madrid, Chris Holloran, Mark Pickle, and Manny Martinez. Honorary Pallbearers will be the Bernalillo County Sheriff Department.
