Consuelo E. Gonzales beloved mother, sister, grandmother and aunt, was called to her eternal resting place on Wednesday, July 15, 2020.
She was born on May 22, 1940 in Trementina, NM, to Alfonso and Cordelia Sanchez. She was a wonderful person and had a special heart for children. She was a teacher's aide for the Archdiocese of Santa Fe. She had many friends in her lifetime. Consuelo lived in Santa Fe for forty years.
Consuelo loved the Denver Broncos football team, watching her novelas, going to church, and talking long hours on the phone with her brothers and sisters. She lived life to the fullest. She made every day count. She enjoyed puzzles, meeting new people and going to church and the zoo.
Consuelo was kind and a wonderful person to be around. Her favorite holiday was Thanksgiving to spend time with her kids and her grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents: Alfonso and Cordelia Sanchez, husband Benito J. Gonzales, sister Isabela Maes, and nephews: Frank and Phillip Marlow, and Ralph Maes.
She is survived by her daughter Elisabeth (Cordy) Jaramillo and her husband Pedro Ramirez of Albuquerque NM, sons: Andy Zins and wife Teresa of Oklahoma, and Chris Zins of Albuqueruqe NM. She had six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She had two brothers: Alfonso Sanchez and wife Toni, and Vences Sanchez and wife Carol. She had two sisters: Corinne Marlow and Anna Martinez. Consuelo had a great-niece that will always have a special place in her heart--Riley Bland. She had many nieces and nephews.
Consuelo's Life Celebration will begin on Friday. July 17, 2020 at 6:00 p.m. at Salazar Mortuary located at 400 Third St SW, 87102. Capacity of the chapel is 50 people and masks are required. A Committal service will be held Saturday, July 18, 2020 at 9:30 a.m. at Sunset Memorial Park 924 Menaul Blvd NE, 87107.
A memorial service and reception will be at a later date through the Presbyterian Church.
