Diego Gonzales

June 11, 1918 — September 29, 2015

Mr. Gonzales passed away on Tuesday, September 29, 2015 at home surrounded by his loving family.

Diego was born in Lemitar, New Mexico in 1918. He moved his family to Albuquerque where he worked at Sandia Labs. Diego was a proud veteran who served his country during WWII.

He is preceded in death by his father and mother Juan and Teresita Gonzales; eldest son "Tony" Gonzales; and in 2013 his great granddaughter Starr Olsen.

Diego was a great guitarist and he wanted to express his thanks to all that played with him. It was his privilege to have been surrounded by good musicians. He played for the Lord at San Ignacio Parish Choir.

He is survived by his wife, of more than 76 years, Senaida; sons Felipe (Rose), Esquipula (Linda), Alex (Mary); twin daughters Joan (Ben) Prinkey and Mary Lou (Fred) Montoya; brother Ambrocio; 14 grandchildren; many great grandchildren and great great grandchildren sister-in-laws, brother-in-laws, nephews, nieces, and god-children.

We were blessed to have five generations in our family. He is at rest now in the house of our heavenly Father.

Diego's Life Celebration will begin with a Rosary on Monday, October 5, 2015 at 7:00 p.m. at Holy Family Parish on Atrisco. Mass will be held on Tuesday, October 6, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. also at Holy Family Parish, followed by Burial at 1:30 p.m. at Santa Fe National Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Felipe Gonzales, Esquipula Gonzales, Alex Gonzales, Fred Montoya, Ben Prinkey, and Raymond Barreras. Honorary pallbearers will be Diego's grandsons.
