Dolores M. Gallegos was a daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, and a trusted friend. The Lord gave her an amazing sense of humor. She saw the world through a different lens than most. Though she endured many setbacks and heartaches, those things were never able to steal her joy. She was the silliest person I've ever met. It seemed to be her mission to make us laugh and to help us see through to the other side of life's storms. She was also the most welcoming person you could ever meet. She would go out of her way to make sure you felt important and included.
She came to believe in the Lord Jesus as her Lord and Savior in the early 90's. In her last years, she would say that if I cried at her funeral, it wouldn't be for her, because she would be doing much better than me (referring to her place in heaven). Even though she would say it jokingly, she was right!

So now mama, I don't say goodbye, but see you later! Thank you for the laughs, understanding eyes and ears, unshakeable faith, and most of all, the love. It's been an honor and a privilege to have known you! As 2 Timothy 4: 7 says, "I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.", and you did!
