Donald "Don" White, a cherished husband, father, and friend, passed away surrounded by family on Wednesday, May 29, 2024, in Albuquerque, New Mexico, at the age of 80.
Donald was preceded in death by his daughters: Pamela Vigil, Cheri Eaton as well as his first wife Penny.
He is survived by his wife Nita; stepdaughters: Helena, Venitia; grandkids: Joshua, Andy, Cassie, Bryant, Kaleena, Tia, Justin; and nine beautiful great-grandchildren.
Don was born on January 29, 1944, in St. Joseph, Missouri, Don's life was a testament to his unwavering dedication to his family, his love for his country, and his passion for life's many adventures. Don's early interest in the army reflected his deep sense of patriotism and commitment to service. He carried these values throughout his life, becoming the steadfast leader of his family, guiding them with intelligence, selflessness, and sensitivity. His 35 years of loving marriage were a beacon of devotion and partnership.
A man of many talents and hobbies, Don was an avid woodworker, creating beautiful pieces that reflected both his skill and his patience. His love for RV traveling and the open road led him to many memorable journeys, particularly to Colorado and the mountains he so loved. Don's passion for country and western music, and the thrill of NASCAR races, were sources of great joy and excitement in his life.
Those who knew Don will remember him as a loving and adventurous spirit, always eager to explore new horizons. His passion for life was contagious, inspiring all who crossed his path. Don was the embodiment of loyalty, often putting the needs of others before his own, and his sensitive nature made him a confidant and friend to many.
As we bid farewell to Donald White, we celebrate a life lived with fervor and love. His legacy of passion, adventure, and unwavering love will continue to live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know him. Don's journey through life was a remarkable one, and he will be deeply missed by all. Don was saved at a Calvary Easter service approximately fifteen years ago, so we can expect to be reunited in heaven.
Don’s life celebration will begin with a service on Saturday, June 1, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. at Salazar Mortuary located at 400 Third St. SW, 87102. Reception will follow inside Salazar Mortuary Event Center.
