Donny Ray Martinez

Donny Ray Martinez gained his wings after unexpectedly passing away on December 1, 2021, at age 40.

Donny joins his stepfather Don Olson in Heaven.

He is survived by many loving family members, including his beloved wife Graciela; three children: Angelina, Donny Ray, Jr., Destina Martinez; parents: Julian Trujillo, Debra Martinez; brothers: Ronnie Martinez, David Martinez, Julian “JuJu” Trujillo; sister LeeAna “Annie” Trujillo, also loving grandmothers: Josie Trujillo and Mary Santillan.

Donny was born to Julian Trujillo and Debra Martinez on January 9, 1981, in Pueblo, Colorado.

Donny saw the love of his life, Graciela Jo Martinez through a casual contact and from there on he would tell everyone he could, he was going to marry that girl. A few years later Donny and Graciela became two peas in a pod and moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico where they lived a flourishing life together. They married on January 1, 2016, and they had been inseparable ever since.

Donny was known as the life of the party. He would enter a room with a big smile and a welcoming laugh. He shared his happiness through singing which was something he loved to do no matter where he was. Donny would give the shirt off his back to help others and if you were blessed to be around him a little longer, he would give you even more.

Donny was passionate about “his sports”. His favorite teams are the Denver Broncos, New York Giants, Denver Nuggets, Colorado Avalanche, WWE and many more. He enjoyed traveling, fishing and taking spontaneous road trips seeking out a new place to adventure in. He often traveled back and forth between New Mexico and Colorado to ensure he spent time with his family.

Donny gave his life to GOD in 2018 and from there on he was passionate about sharing the love of our Lord with others. He was part of New Life Church of God in Albuquerque. Donny was working on extending his calling in the ministry. He was part of the church choir and was working on being the worship leader.

Now that Donny has passed into the arms of our Lord, we should remind ourselves that while this is the end of Donny’s physical life on Earth, it’s the beginning of an eternal and beautiful journey for Donny.

Donny's Life Celebration will begin with a Visitation on Saturday, December 11, 2021 at 11:30am at New Life Church of God located at 3400 Aztec Rd NE, 87107. Service will begin at 12:30 pm. Donny will be laid to rest following the Service at Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery located at 924 Menaul Blvd NE, 87107.

Pallbearers will be Ronnie Martinez, David Martinez, Latisha Martinez, Jason Trujillo, Daniel Rodriguez, and Isreal Rodriguez.

Honorary Pallbearer will be Rick Sanders.
