Edward Joseph Gurule

Beloved Son, Brother, Dad, and Uncle, Edward Joseph Gurule, went to be with our Lord on Wednesday, August 18, 2021 at the age of 60.

He was preceded in death by his father Edward M. Gurule and brother Richard Garcia.

Edward is survived by his mother Julia Gurule; sons: Edward Joseph Gurule, Raymond Gurule; brothers: Michael Gurule (Lisa), Charles Gurule (Polly); and sister Dorothy Astorga (Joe). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews: Mannie, Lorenzo, Charles, Eddie, Antoinette, Daniel, Michelle, Martin, Erika, Delilah, Antonio, Monte, Mia, Braizley, Gianna, Ariana, and Brystol.

Edward served as a Lance Corporal in the United States Marine Corps. He also served in the National Guard Reserve. He was a jokester. He enjoyed hunting, fishing basketball and softball. He loved going on walks.  His favorite football team was the Miami Dolphins.

Edward's Life Celebration will begin with a Visitation on Friday, August 27, 2021 at 9:00am at Salazar Mortuary located at 400 Third St. SW, 87102. Rosary will be recited at 10:00am. Catholic Service will begin at 10:30am. Edward will be laid to rest following the Service at Mount Calvary Cemetery located at 1900 Edith Blvd NE, 87102.  Reception will follow the burial at Salazar Mortuary Life Event Center.

Pallbearers will be Steve Artiaga, Mannie Gurule, Lorenzo Gurule, Charles Gurule, Daniel Astorga, and Joe Astorga.
