Elesta M. Griego, born May 21, 1919 in Flagstaff Arizona to Alfanso Garcia and Benina Lopez Garcia, passed away peacefully on Monday, September 1, 2014.
She is preceded in death by her husband Demetrio Griego Jr. and her son Filbert Griego. She is survived by her sons: Leo Griego and wife Barbara, and Demetrio Griego III and wife Lauren; daughters: Evangelina Pike, Sylvia Vielma and husband David, and Katherine McLarty and husband Michael; sister: Rita Garcia; 11 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
To our niece Geraldine Madrid your thoughtfulness and caring for mom will always be deeply appreciated and treasured in our memories.
Thanks to the staff at the Good Samaritan Society Manzano Del Sol Village for the kindness and care you gave our mother. Remember everyone was beautiful.
Elesta's Life Celebration will begin with a Visitation on Friday, September 5, 2014 at 6:00 p.m. at Salazar Mortuary located at 400 Third St. SW, 87102 in the Floral Chapel followed by a Rosary at 7:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Saturday, September 6, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Church located at 619 Copper Ave NW, 87102 followed by a Burial at Mount Calvary Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Anthony Vielma, Patrick Vielma, Domingo Madrid, Aaron Hiner, Michael McLarty, and Stephen Griego. Honorary pallbearers will be Mikey Vielma, and Paul Griego.
