Elizabeth "Lisa" Gurule, 53, passed away on Saturday, September 2, 2023.
She was preceded in death by her parents Manuel and Theresa Gonzales.
Lisa is survived by her husband of 34 years, Michael Gurule; sons: Manuel Gurule, Lorenzo Gurule and daughter in-law Susanna; 5 grandchildren: Monte, Mia, Braizley, Gianna and Brystol.
Born on April 26, 1970, Lisa lived a life full of love, accomplishment, and service.
Lisa was known for her successful career as an Administrative Supervisor, a role she navigated with grace and tenacity while raising a family. She was a example of success and inspiration in her community, not only for her professional achievements but also for her role as a successful Hispanic woman. Lisa always sought to make her parents proud and honor their legacy, a mission she fulfilled every day with her actions and accomplishments.
She was deeply involved in her community, often seen at the helm of local initiatives. One of her most significant contributions was facilitating blood drives, a testament to her commitment to helping others and making a difference in her community. Her tireless work ethic and dedication to service were reflections of her immense heart and compassionate spirit.
Lisa had a heart for capturing the beauty of the world around her. She had an inherent ability to see the extraordinary in the ordinary, which she enthusiastically exhibited through her love for taking pictures and videos. Her creativity didn't stop there, as Lisa loved nail art, often creating intricate, beautiful designs.
A lover of all things beauty, Lisa was always on top of the latest trends and techniques. She also had a knack for DIY projects, transforming everyday items into artistic masterpieces. These talents, combined with her love for creative writing, made Lisa a well-rounded individual who constantly sought to express her creativity.
Lisa was a voracious reader and a lover of music, often combining the two for a perfect afternoon of relaxation. She was also a fitness enthusiast, advocating for a healthy lifestyle and leading by example. Her love for the outdoors was evident in her passion for fishing, a pastime she enjoyed immensely.
Lisa had a particular love for Chinese cuisine and Lorenzo's chile dogs. She also had a sweet tooth, with milkshakes being her guilty pleasure. Her love for food extended to the kitchen, where she enjoyed cooking for her family and friends, often turning simple meals into feast-like gatherings.

Lisa's Life Celebration will begin with a Rosary to be recited on Monday, September 18, 2023 at 10:30am at Salazar Mortuary located at 400 Third St. SW, 87102. Service will begin at 11:00 am. Reception will follow in the Salazar Mortuary Event Center.
