Ellena Beauchamp Mundy

October 16, 1960 — January 24, 2024

Ellena Beauchamp Mundy died unexpectedly on Wednesday, January 24, 2024, from complications during open heart bypass surgery at the age of 63. It was a blessing that she went peacefully and surrounded by family and friends. Her whole family got to say a last goodbye before she passed.

Ellena was preceded in death by her father Raymond Beauchamp, mother Mary Beauchamp, and sister Christie Wicklund.

She is survived by her husband Kimbo Mundy; children: Sam Mundy, Tommy Mundy, Piner Mundy; stepson Benjamin Peebles-Mundy; daughter-in-law Rebecca Wilsker; brother Louie Beauchamp; sister Jenny Puehringer; brother-in-law Josef Puehringer; nephews Nick and John Beauchamp.

Ellena was born on October 16, 1960, in Wilmington, DE. She grew up in Longmeadow, MA, and attended Longmeadow High School, Pine Manor College, and graduated from Boston University. Her first job out of school was for The Exceptional Parent magazine.

Ellena met Kimbo at work at Interleaf; they worked together for many years before marrying in 1991. They lived in Arlington and Wellesley, MA, before moving to Albuquerque for her health.

Ellena embraced life with a giving heart and a generous spirit. Ellena was a loving and devoted wife and mother and was always a fierce advocate for her children. She loved her stepson like he was her own. She always wanted all her children to be happy.

She was a fabulous cook and kept an immaculate home. Ellena had many friends. People were drawn to her “wicked” sense of humor and ability to imitate; she excelled at making people laugh. She loved R&B and classic rock; you could tell she was happy when she was singing. Perhaps, in heaven, she will finally be able to sing on key.

She had numerous health challenges, but she believed in exercise and was always ready to put in the work to strive for a full recovery.

She loved beautiful things, like her rose garden, sunsets, and the mountains. When traveling she sought out friends, beaches, and waterfalls. She loved holding a frosty drink and floating down a lazy river with her family close by.

It may be too late to say, “Thank You!” in person, but those that knew her will have gratitude in their hearts for all she did for them.

Ellena’s life celebration will begin with a visitation on Saturday, February 3, 2024, at 3:00 p.m. at Salazar Mortuary located at 400 Third St SW, 87102. Service will begin at 4:00 p.m. A reception will follow inside Salazar Mortuary Event Center.
