Eva Baca, 85, went to be with our Lord, on Tuesday, May 9, 2023, in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
Eva was preceded in death by her loving husband of 57 years, Nick R. Baca and parents Luciano and Louisa Garcia.
Eva is survived by sons: Frank Baca, Larry Baca, Leonard Baca (Pam), Robert Baca; daughters: Maggie Gomez (Jessie), Diana Baca, Frances Baca; brothers: Juan Gabriel Garcia (Marcy), Jose Lino Garcia (Consuelo), Santiago Garcia (Carmen); Lorenzo Garcia (Marge); Modesto Garcia, Jr., Armando Garcia (Bernice), Felix Garcia, Danny Garcia, Antone Garcia, Agapito Garica (Lugi); sisters: Margaret Sotello (Socorro), Elsie Chavez (Louis), Nestora Chavez (Sammy), Loretta Garcia; 15 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren.
Eva was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Many years were spent caring for her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was married to her husband Nick for 58 years. They raised seven children together. Her most constant companion and best friend was her daughter Frances, they were rarely apart and loved each other dearly. Frances will miss having Eva at her side at all times.
Eva was employed by PNM, she cleaned offices at night and often caring for her grandchildren during the day. She eventually enjoyed retirement from PNM and then, her and Fraces enjoyed caring for all the great-grandchilden. Eva had a great love for tending to her flowers, listening to country music, and singing. Many of the grandchildren fondly remember their Nana singing "You Are My Sunshine".
Eva always had great faith in the Lord, was a very strong woman, and had a beautiful smile that will be missed by her family.
Eva's life celebration will begin with a rosary on Friday, May 19, 2023 starting at 8:30a.m. at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church located on 820 Broadway Blvd SE, 87102. Mass will begin at 9:00 a.m. Eva will be laid to rest following the mass at San Jose de Armijo located at 2957 Arenal Rd SW, 87121.
Pallbearers will be Frank Baca, Jr., Aaron Gomez, Casey Baca, Leslie Baca, Joseph Baca, and Alex Garcia.
