Frankie "Papa" Gutierrez

August 23, 1945 — September 17, 2023

Frankie Espinosa Gutierrez, affectionately known to many as Papa Frankie, was a man of love, laughter, and kindness. Born on August 23, 1945, in Los Angeles, California, he lived a vibrant life filled with passion and purpose until his peaceful passing on September 17, 2023, in Rio Rancho, New Mexico.

Frankie was preceded in death by his father, Frank D. Gutierrez; his mother, Edwina Espinosa Gutierrez; his sisters, Margret and Roseann Gutierrez; and his brother, David “Jetblackhouse” Gutierrez.

He is survived by his sisters, Sylvia and Louisa Gutierrez, and his children, Frankie B., Rocky E., Blanca, Jonathan M., and Daisy Gutierrez.

Frankie was known for his unwavering kindness and generosity. He had a remarkable ability to connect and empathize with others and would selflessly give his last dollar to those in need. Whether it was a kind word, a helping hand, or a material offering, he always went above and beyond to support those he cared for. Family was very important to him, and he enjoyed spending quality time together over a good meal, a movie or just being in your presence. Frankie would soak it all up. His love for his children was immeasurable. Frankie, Rocky, Blanca, Jonathan, and Daisy held a special place in his heart, and he cherished every moment spent with them. Pops found immense joy in witnessing their growth and accomplishments, and his love for them was a guiding force in his life. Pops' love extended to the next generation as well. His face would light up like a shooting star whenever he was surrounded by his beloved grandchildren: Mark, Alex, Madison, Isabella, Naveah, and Frankie, who had the honor of carrying on his name. He adored his grandchildren and took immense pride in their achievements, always encouraging them to pursue their dreams and lending a hand anytime they needed. Frankie was a man of many talents and interests, but his greatest passion was his family. He was a devoted family man who put his loved ones above all else.

Frankie's faith was a guiding force in his life. At one point, he served as a pastor in his family church, sharing his spiritual wisdom and uplifting others with his sermons. His faith was not just about religion, but about living a life of service and compassion. He was a man who believed in giving, even when he had nothing left to give.

In his professional life, Papa Frankie was a successful restaurant owner who found joy in the art of cooking. He believed that food was more than just sustenance; it was a way to bring people together, to share stories, and to create lasting bonds. His restaurants were not just a place to eat, but a community hub where everyone was welcomed with a warm smile and a hearty meal.

Papa Frankie's legacy is one of love and kindness. He was a man who lived his life with an open heart, always ready to share a joke, a smile, or a word of encouragement. He believed in the power of positivity and the importance of making others feel valued and loved. Although Papa Frankie is no longer physically with us, his genuine caring spirit will forever remain in our hearts. His legacy of hard working, love, gentle kindness, and selflessness will continue to grow within each of us. So, we will honor his life by carrying forward the values he instilled in us and by spreading his warmth and compassion to others.

In the end, Papa Frankie's life was not defined by his achievements or his successes, but by the love he shared, the lives he touched, and the joy he brought to others. His life was a testament to the power of love, the strength of family, and the importance of living each day with purpose and joy.

Papa Frankie, your laughter will echo in our hearts, your kindness will inspire our actions, and your love will guide our lives. Your legacy will live on, not just in the memories we shared, but in the lives you touched and the love you gave.
