George J. Montoya

George J. Montoya went to be with the Lord on Saturday, August 29, 2015 surrounded by his precious family and friends.

He was predeceased by his step-father, Prospero Archuleta; and grandparents: Lucio and Gomecinda Nieto, and grandmother Candida Archuleta.

George is survived by his wife of 27 years, Ana; children: Talia (Antonio Sanchez) and Alejandro; one grandson, Elario; mother, Inez Archuleta; brother, Vincent Montoya (Rosella) and sister, Veronica Padilla (Manuel); in-laws: Al and Angie Sandoval; and numerous relatives and friends.

George had a big heart and will always be remembered as a generous father, grandfather, and friend. He was a sports fanatic who loved football and basketball. He was an avid fisherman and hunter. George met many of his lifelong friends at his workplaces including UPS and the Water Authority.

George's Life Celebration will begin with a Viewing on Wednesday, September 2, 2015 at 3:00 p.m. at Salazar Mortuary followed by a Rosary at 7:00 p.m. at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 619 Copper Ave. NW 87102. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, September 3, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. also at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, followed by Burial at Mt. Calvary Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Anthony Archuleta, Victor Amparran, David Juarros, Moises Montoya, Alejandro Montoya, and Alvin Sandoval. Honorary pallbearers will be UPS employees.

The family wishes to thank their many friends and relatives who reflected on George's Life. Your sympathy and thoughtfulness will always be gratefully remembered and deeply appreciated. A special thank you to Kindred Hospital and Presbyterian Hospital and all the family and friends that visited him at both facilities.
