George Nuanez Sr., 83, was called home on Tuesday, April 21, 2015.
Loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He retired from Sandia Labs after 22 year of service, was a counsel person for the Village of Tijeras and opened Nuanez Income Tax. He loved deer hunting, fishing, horse racing, and gourmet cooking. He loved to make Palmas for the Matachines.
George is preceded in death by his father and mother Amado and Predicanda Nuanes.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years Virginia Nuanez; sons George Nuanez Jr. (Zoyla), Larry Nuanez (Elvira), Willy Nuanez (Brenda), and Jesse Nuanez; daughter Debbie Enriquez (Ramon); ten grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
George's Life Celebration will begin with a Visitation on Friday, April 24, 2015 at 6:00 p.m. at Holy Child Parish in Tijeras NM, followed by a Rosary at 7:00 p.m. Join the family for refreshments in the San Jose Hall. A Final Viewing will be held on Saturday, April 25, 2015 at 9:00 a.m. also at Holy Child Parish, followed by a Mass at 10:00 a.m. Burial will take place at Pueblo de Tijeras Cemetery. Please join the family for a reception at the San Jose Hall following services.
Pallbearers will be Annette Garcia, Juan Candelaria, Celeste Nuanez, Marielena Candelaria, Antonio Nuanez, Renee Nuanez, Anthony Nuanez, and David Nuanez.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Lawrence Nuanez, Ben Nuanez, Diego Garcia, Bijou Candelaria, Kalayah Candelaria, and Sonja Nuanez.
The family will be receiving visitors at the home of Larry Nuanez located at 127 Five Hills Dr., Tijeras, NM 87059. Just follow the white flags on Five Hills Drive.
