George M. Knapp ended his life’s journey on Thursday, December 19, 2019.
He is headed for the finest golf course this talented amateur golfer ever played, then onto the 19th watering hole which he always enjoyed.
George was born in Utica, NY and raised his family in Onondaga Hill, NY. Books, skiing, golf, good conversation, and excellent scotch and wine were some of his passions. He had a wonderfully wicked wit and sense of humor with an amazing ability to tell a story. His business career spanned over 35 years, including selling soup, feminine hygiene products, importing fine wines and finally as President of Pico Products a manufacturer of electronics for the cable tv industry. He traveled the world in this capacity. After retirement, he briefly went into real estate in Albuquerque. He and Peggy moved to New Mexico from Los Angeles after the Northridge Earthquake, which had a great impact on their lives. They looked at it as a new adventure and tested several places in the state, ending up in Albuquerque for the last twenty years.
He is survived by his first and only wife Peggy Plumb, sons Jason in Charleston, WV; Adrian in Grass Valley, CA; grandson Cameron also in VW, sister Maryrose Zerillo and husband George in Rattlesnake Gulch, NY.
Sister Cynthia O’Neill predeceased him.
George and Peggy enjoyed 56 years together with many of them exciting, fun filled and adventurous, along with some difficult ones but laughter got them through the tough times. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Darn, he missed the impeachment.
