Geraldine Ulibarri

Geraldine Ulibarri, a beacon of loving-kindness and boundless passion, departed from this world on Friday, August 30, 2024, at the age of 57.

She was preceded in death by her mother Dolores Parra, grandmother Annie Gutierrez, and great-grandmother Julia Baca.

Geraldine is survived by her father Raymond Ulibarri, daughter Amanda Gurule (Austin Ramirez), grandsons: London Ramirez, Rome Ramirez, sister Mona Sanchez (Matt Sanchez), nephew Mathew Sanchez, niece Sierra Sanchez (Marcus Encinias), Mila Encinias, aunts Phyllis Musick, JoAnn Sharp, also extended family and countless friends.

Geraldine was born in Gallup, New Mexico on October 21, 1966, Geraldine's life was a vibrant tapestry woven with the joys of simple pleasures, the thrill of adventure, and the warmth of community spirit.

Geraldine's love for the natural world was evident in her beautifully tended garden, which not only served as a sanctuary for her soul but also as a source of culinary delight. She relished the experience of savoring the fresh produce she nurtured from the earth, a testament to her belief in the simple, yet profound pleasures of life.

Travel held a special place in Geraldine's heart, and she embraced every opportunity to explore new horizons. Even journeys within her home state ignited her adventurous spirit, as she believed that wonder could be found in every corner of the world. The memories she created on these escapades were among her most cherished treasures.

The soothing waters of her hot tub were a haven of relaxation for Geraldine, a place where she could unwind and reflect on the day’s experiences. Her love for music was another source of joy, and she could often be found tapping her feet to the rhythm of live bands, especially those local talents she so ardently supported.

Her unyielding support for teams donned in black and silver, such as the Raiders and the Spurs, mirrored the loyalty and passion with which she approached every aspect of her life. Yet, the pinnacle of her achievements and the most profound source of pride was her beloved daughter and Grandsons. Geraldine saw them as the greatest success of her life, the embodiment of her purpose and love.

In her community, Geraldine was a pillar of strength and compassion. She was known for her non-judgmental nature and her genuine desire to uplift those around her. Her involvement in local initiatives reflected her commitment to making a positive impact on the lives she touched.

The ocean was a place of boundless joy for Geraldine. She would dive into its waves with unrestrained enthusiasm, embracing the freedom and serenity that the vast blue expanse offered.

Geraldine had a penchant for preserving memories, saving mementos that held sentimental value. These treasures were physical manifestations of the love and experiences that marked her journey through life.

Described as loving, adventurous, and passionate, Geraldine's legacy is one of heartfelt connections and a zest for life that inspired all who knew her. Her essence was that of a life lived fully, with every moment embraced, every relationship cherished, and every opportunity for joy seized with both hands.

As we bid farewell to Geraldine Ulibarri, we honor a life that was rich in love and adventure. Her spirit, so deeply woven into the fabric of her community and the hearts of those she loved, will continue to be felt in the blooming of flowers, the cheer of a crowd at a live band's performance, and the gentle lapping of ocean waves. She will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever celebrated.

Geraldine's Life Celebration will begin with a Rosary to be recited on Monday, September 9, 2024, at 6:00 pm at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Catholic Church located at 5415 Fortuna Rd NW, 87107. Mass will be held on Tuesday, September 10, 2024, at 9:00am also at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Catholic Church. Geraldine will be laid to rest following the Mass at Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery located at 924 Menaul Blvd NE, 87107. Reception will follow after the graveside service, the location is the Route 66 visitors Center and the address is 12300 Central Ave SW Albuquerque New Mexico 87121 on Tuesday September 10th.

A separate Celebration of life event will be held at Rio Bravo Brewery on Friday September 13th at 6:00 PM, the address is 1912 2nd St. NW 87102.

Pallbearers will be Austin Ramirez, Matt Sanchez, Mathew Sanchez, and Marcus Encinias.
