Helen Pacias

Helen (Elena) Pacias, 89, a resident of Albuquerque, passed away after a short illness on May 6, 2016. Helen was a loving daughter, sister, and aunt. Helen will be remembered most for her lifelong career as an educator and her love and commitment to children. Helen earned her Bachelor's Degree in Education from the University of Albuquerque and later received her Master's Degree from the University of New Mexico. She ended her teaching career with the Los Lunas Public School District where she was loved and respected by fellow educators, parents and students.

Helen was preceded in death by her parents: Carmen and Sophia Pacias, four brothers, four sisters and nephew: Robert Pacias. Helen was the last living of her generation.

Helen is survived by her nephews: Louis, Alvin, Billy and Rumaldo; nieces: Sophia, Maria Elena, Maxine, Sarita and Helen.

Helen will be missed by her family, neighbors whom she held in the highest regard, and her faith community.

Rosary will be held Wednesday, May 11, 2016 at 7:00 pm at Salazar Mortuary. Funeral Mass will be held Thursday, May 12 at 10:00 am at the Newman Center Catholic Church. The family would like to invite all to a reception at Salazar Mortuary following the Funeral Mass.
