Henry Leyba, 84, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 22, 2015.
He is preceded in death by his wife Bertha Leyba, son Henry Leyba Jr., and sisters Bernadette Barela, and Emma Romero.
He is survived by his daughters Lillian Silva, Dora Lee Gardea, Brenda Samora, Gloria Montoya, Rosalie Leyba; Sisters Mary Olsen, Esther Quintero, Theresa Chavez, and Lupe Leyba-Baca; 13 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren.
He is described by his family as courageous, charming and comedic. He was handsome, strong willed, old fashioned and always loved to look his best. Henry was strong in faith and loved his family which included his loving companion (pet) Sheyla. He was all about the beat, loved music and loved to sing even if he was off tune and didn't know the words. Henry was a corporal in the United States Army during the Korean War and had the true heart of a patriot. He will be missed by many and live forever in our hearts.
Henry's Life Celebration will begin with a Viewing on Friday, July 24, 2015 from 3:30 p.m. until 5:00 pm in the Floral Chapel of Salazar Mortuary. A Rosary will be recited on Sunday, July 26, 2015 at 6:00 p.m. at San Felipe de Neri Catholic Church. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, July 27, 2015 at 9:00 a.m. also at San Felipe de Neri Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Mount Calvary Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Santiago Samora, Gary Abeyta, Martin Rodriguez Jr., John Montoya, Antonio Silva, and Martin Rodriguez III.
