Jacqueline Woods, 65, passed away surrounded by her loved ones in Albuquerque, NM on Sunday, January 28, 2019.
Jacqueline Woods was born in Chicago on September 28, 1953. She was the daughter of Robert and Dorothy Kohut. Jacqueline Woods is preceded in death by her parents Robert and Dorothy Kohut. She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Todd Woods, brother Kiff (Linda) Kohut, sisters Kim (Henry) Theisen and Michele (Jeff) Oostenbrug, and her children Ryan Woods, Peter Woods and Amber Woods. She would always say that her greatest accomplishment was being a good mother to her three children who she loved deeply and always kept close to her heart.
Jackie grew up in Chicago attending Catholic schools. The family moved to Waupaca, WI. She attended Waupaca high school and worked at the Rexall drug store counter and later as a floral designer. She and Todd married in 1973 and enjoyed 45 years of raising children and making great friends in Wisconsin, Northern Kentucky, Arkansas and New Mexico.
Jackie learned to cook from her grandmother Mary. She used her skills not only at home, but was very successful working at restaurants and running her own catering company for several years.
Jackie absolutely loved having parties with family and friends. There was no limit to the extent she would go to please crowds of people with her food and entertainment.
The news of her illness two months prior to her passing set off a huge wave of love and support from many dozens of friends and family across the country. She and the family are so grateful for all the kind words. So many people were touched by Jackie’s generosity and spirit. We will never forget her.
We would also like to thank the caregivers of Presbyterian Hospital and Hospice for their wonderful help and support.
