James Robert "Jr" Luna

It is with profound love and respect that we celebrate the life of James Robert "JR" Luna, who passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 10, 2023, at the age of 38.

He was survived by his father Frank Luna, mother Sandy Luna (Rhoton); aunts and uncles: Peggy Orndorff (Rhoton), Ricky and Patsy Rhoton, Teresa Luna, Victoria Grace Mauch (Luna) and Wesley Mauch, Arthur and Valerie Luna, Rita Luna Diamant and John Cruzer, Daniel Luna, Carmen Shaffer (Luna), Robert and Alexandra Luna, David Luna, Elena (Luna) and Clint Stephens.

JR was a voracious reader and an avid hiker, whose passion for travel took him to the most beautiful corners of the world. He was a true country boy at heart and carried his love for animals wherever he went.

His home was a sanctuary of knowledge, filled with treasured books and an impressive collection of rocks, each piece telling a story of his many adventures. Intelligent, gentle, and loving, JR touched the lives of those around him with his boundless curiosity and kind spirit.

JR's memory will be cherished and kept alive through the legions of friends and family members who were fortunate enough to be graced by his warmth and wisdom. His presence will be profoundly missed, but the light of his spirit continues to shine brightly in the hearts of those he loved.

JR’s life celebration will begin with a Rosary on Friday, February 23, 2024, at 10:30 a.m. at Reflections Chapel located at 2400 Washington St NE, 87110. Service will begin at 11:00 am with a reception to follow at Reflections Chapel.
