Jessica Alejandra Silva - Ibarra

Jessica Alejandra Silva-Ibarra, affectionately known as "Chata" by those who knew her best, passed away on Wednesday, May 15, 2024, in Dona Ana, New Mexico.

Jessica is preceded in death by grandparents Ophelia Ibarra and Jose Ibarra.

She is survived by her husband Jesse Montenegro, son Jacob Montenegro, mother Enedina Ibarra, brother Marcos Adonis Silva, and sister Maria Eugenia Solis Ibarra.

She was born on September 8, 1989, in Albuquerque, New Mexico, Jessica's vibrant spirit and infectious laughter brought light and love into the lives of all who had the pleasure of knowing her. Chata's life was a tapestry of joyful moments and cherished memories. Her interests were as diverse as they were passionate, including a love for her family—her devoted mother, her cherished son, and her beloved life partner. She found immense joy in traveling, with Florida being one of her favorite destinations, and she was always eager to explore new places. Her love for animals was profound, and she embraced the role of motherhood as one of her most significant achievements, considering it a privilege and a joy.

Jessica's purpose in life was simple yet profound: to have fun and to be a source of happiness for others. Her gentle nature, combined with her sense of humor, made her such a good person. She had a unique ability to find humor in the everyday and could effortlessly lift the spirits of those around her.

A collector at heart, Jessica treasured her assortment of stuffed animals, photographs, and CDs, each item a memento of the love and laughter that filled her days. These collections were more than just possessions; they were tangible reminders of the moments and people she held dear.

Described by those who loved her as loving, funny, and gentle, Jessica's legacy is one of warmth and kindness. Her laughter and joyous approach to life will be deeply missed but never forgotten. Chata's memory will continue to inspire those she leaves behind to embrace life with the same fervor and to spread joy as she did so naturally.

Jessica's Life Celebration will begin with a Visitation on Friday, May 24, 2024, at 5:00 pm at Salazar Mortuary located at 400 Third St. SW, 87102. Rosary will be recited at 6:00 pm. Service will begin at 6:30 pm.
