Jesus Maria Sedillo passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 23, 2021 in Albuquerque, New Mexico, after a courageous fight with Covid-19. Jesus was 79 years old.
Jesus is preceded in death by his parents Lonesio and Manuelita Sedillo, and sister-in-law Stella Sedillo.
He is survived by his sons: Ricky Sedillo, Jesus Sedillo (Sherry); grandchildren: Courtney Sedillo, Cody (Sidney) Sedillo, Megan Sedillo, Mercedes Sedillo, Jesus Zamora; brothers and sisters: Henry Sedillo, Adela Kuhn-Sedillo, George Sedillo, John Sedillo, Katie Sedillo, Rita Sedillo-Duran (Donald), Leo Sedillo (Louise), Virginia Sedillo (Roger), Molly Rosales; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Jesus was born on December 28, 1941 in Tajique, New Mexico to Lonesio & Manuelita Sedillo. He grew up in Tajique and spent his life in Albuquerque, New Mexico. He lost most of his hearing at a young age but that never deterred his resolve to accomplish many things in life. Through the course of his life, he demonstrated a hard work ethic and worked in various industries, often receiving accolades for his dedication. He recently retired at the age of 79, further attesting to his determination and endurance.
Jesus enjoyed playing the guitar, drums, studying the Bible, spending time with family, and eating Huevos Rancheros. He was a generous, witty and dedicated man who loved God & Jesus Christ and was passionate about serving God’s children in his community. He was an active and dedicated member of his church, Crossroads of Albuquerque. He often volunteered at his church’s donation center.
The family would like to thank the staff at UNM and Presbyterian hospitals for their care and dedication. They would also like to thank the staff at Reflections Funerals & Life Celebrations/Salazar Funeral Homes & Crematory and Mount Calvary Cemetery. Special thanks to Pastor Tom Pennington, his wife, and the congregation of Crossroads of Albuquerque for their love and support.
Jesus' Life Celebration will begin with a Visitation on Tuesday, March 30, 2021 at 10:00 am at Crossroads of Albuquerque located at 5200 Marble Ave NE, 87110. Service will take place at 11:00 am. Jesus will be laid to rest at Mount Calvary Cemetery located at 1900 Edith Blvd NE, 87102.
Due to the COVID restrictions set in place by the Governor masks are MANDATORY to attend Jesus' Visitation, Service, and Burial. Crossroads of Albuquerque has a capacity of 60 people. Mount Calvary is allowing 10 people to be at the graveside and asks that all attendees stand back in socially distant groups of 10.
Pallbearers will be Leo Sedillo, Cody Sedillo, Henry Sedillo, Jr., Sam Kuhn, John Sedillo, Jr., and Stephen Simms.
