Joann Iller, 65, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 17, 2022, with family at her side as she entered God’s kingdom.
Joann was born in New York to loving parents, Lottie and Joseph Iller, both deceased. Joann was preceded in death by her sister Terri Allen.
She is survived by her brother Mike Iller, in California, and niece TJ, in Albuquerque. Joann lived most of her life with her loving adopted family in New Mexico -- mom, Debbie Harrington, grandma Marcie Skinner, auntie Mary Louise and uncle Martin Marshall, auntie Sandra and uncle Albert Herrera, auntie Andrea Chisolm, and many cousins and extended family and friends.
Joann expressed her love with a look, smile, and with a pinch, if needed. She managed to pinch everyone around her at some time or another, and mostly everyone forgave her. Her cousin, Daniel, was her best friend and she delighted in seeing him every chance she could. Joann showed us that love isn’t only shared through words. Her voice, however, was heard loud and clear at Holy Family Church and it didn’t matter if it was before, during or after Mass. Sometimes Joann’s vocal energy came at a perfectly timed point in Father Patrick’s sermon, to which he would thank Joann for agreeing with him. Joann was loved and gave love. Joann’s life shows us all how to love without words, without limits and without reasons.
Joann's Life Celebration will begin with a Visitation on Friday, May 27, 2022 at 8:00am at Holy Family Catholic Church located at 562 Atrisco Rd SW, 87105. Rosary will be recited at 8:30am. Mass will begin at 9:00am. Joann will be laid to rest following the Mass at San Jose de Armijo Cemetery located at 2957 Arenal Rd SW, 87121. Family and friends will gather after the burial in the Holy Family Parish Hall.
