John Gonzales Iii

September 20, 1973 — August 16, 2023

On Wednesday, August 16, 2023, John Gonzales III, loving husband, and father of two passed away at age 49.

John was preceded in death by his mother Judith Velasquez.

He is survived by his wife Mayline, two children: Zipporah and Wyatt, sister Joyce Gallegos, and nieces and nephews.

John was born on September 20, 1973, in Belen, New Mexico to Judith Velasquez and Johnny Gonzales, Jr. He worked tireless hours on his passion, which was cars. He helped his father-in -law, Mel, build his 1931 Ford 5 window coupe. He worked his way up and became an Automotive Technician. For the last years of his life was a Foreman at a dealership. John would meet his soulmate, Mayline in an auto shop (Motorcar Mall) in Peralta, New Mexico. They saw each other and fell in love. They raised a beautiful daughter, Zipporah and a handsome son, Wyatt. John and Mayline spent 23 years together, they were best friends and built a beautiful life together. He loved his wife and his kids.

John liked aliens, UFOs, and astronomy. He found joy in stargazing and seeing if he would find the constellations. He loved hard rock music which some of his favorite artists ranged from Rob Zombie, Static-X, Metallica, Slayer, Pantera, etc. John loved to go fishing in Pagosa Springs on family trips. Him and Mayline loved dancing to country music together. He was known for his patience, kind heart, wittiness, and just all-around great guy.

When John was younger, he had that 80's haircut so the family would joke that he looked like Selenas boyfriend Chris from the movie Selena, or that he looked like Adam Sandler in the movie the wedding singer.

As the lord has taken his physical body, we know that he’ll always be here with us in our hearts and in our minds.
