Josephine Anne Russell

Josephine Anne Russell went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, February 22, 2023, surrounded by her family.

She is preceded in death by her father William Albert Piggott, mother Coral Claire Vera Maude Taylor Piggott, and brother Peter Piggott.

She is survived by her daughter Rosalind Hankins; son Robert Russell; her life partner Robert Angermuller; grandchildren: Desirey Hankins, Robert Hankins, Jordan Russell, Jasmine Russell; great-grandchildren: Jayceon Russell, Justyce Russell; also her siblings in England: Richard Piggott, David Piggott, Ian Piggott, Paul Piggott, and Pam Brown.

Josephine was born on April 2, 1941 in Bildeston, Suffolk, England. She loved the outdoors, to garden, plant flowers, nature, the ocean in particular, where she collected a variety of seashells. She also loved animals, she adopted three dogs in her lifetime and one cat who "adopted" her. She was an avid reader and frequented bookstores and libraries. She enjoyed traveling and taking road trips which she documented in her scrapbooks and photo albums. She loved the holidays, especially Christmas. She would make her traditional roast beef and Yorkshire pudding. She would often say if you spilled salt while cooking to throw a pinch over your left shoulder for good luck!

Josephine had a knack for decorating, crafts, and making floral arrangements, these things were like second nature to her. She had a penchant for numbers and math, she obtained a degree in accounting. She worked several office management jobs and most enjoyed working for the New Mexico Restaurant Association as a Trade Show Manager.
