Joshua Roberto Garcia

Joshua Roberto Garcia, 36, our beloved husband, father, son, and brother, unexpectedly and peacefully passed away Monday, January 23, while away on work travel in Portland, Oregon. Josh was born October 14, 1980, in Albuquerque to Richard and Rebecca Garcia. A native New Mexican, Josh was raised in Albuquerque, and always amazed his family and friends with his natural athletic ability and competitive spirit. Josh graduated from Cibola High School where he was an exceptional soccer player and made many of his longtime friends. As his grandfathers before him, Josh proudly served in the US ARMY Reserves for six years after completing basic training as an honor grad.

In 2010, Josh married the love of his life, Christina Marie Bowers, in an intimate ceremony in Jamaica. His proudest moments were becoming a father to his baby boy, Elias Joshua and to his beautiful princess, Liliana Vivian. Josh was a great father who absolutely adored his children and overflowed with pride when looking at them.

Josh is survived by his wife of six years, Christina; son, Elias, 3 years; and daughter, Liliana, 4 months; his parents, Richard and Rebecca of Albuquerque; his sister and brother-in-law, Danielle and Chris O'Ryan, and their children, Isabelle and Katherine of California; his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Marianna and Brian Bowers and brother-in-law, Brandyn Bowers of Utah; as well as many loving aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Josh was fiercely loyal, hardworking, generous, humble and most of all, loving. His smile and his spirit were contagious and he silently impacted the lives of anyone he met. Josh loved spending time with his family and friends more than anything and will be deeply missed, but forever in our hearts. We ask for prayers for Josh's family.

Joshua's life celebration will begin with a Rosary on Wednesday, February 1 at 9:00 am followed by a Funeral Mass at 9:30am at St. Jude Thaddeus Catholic Church (5712 Paradise Blvd NW 87114). Josh will be laid to rest at a later date.
