José Raúl Plata Hernández

José Raúl Plata Hernández, age 68, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, December 19, 2020.

José is predeceased by his father Jose Ascension Plata, Sr.; brothers: Armando Plata, José Ascension Plata, Jr.; and his niece Angelica Plata.

He leaves behind his wife of 46 years Martha Plata; sons: José Jesús Plata, José Manuel Plata; daughter Maria Elena Plata; brothers: José Luis Plata Hernández and wife Lillian, Mauro Plata and wife Esther, Gerardo Plata, Gabriel Plata, Javier Plata, Antonio Plata,  Alfonso Plata; sisters: Maria Esther Plata, Rosario Mata and husband Eliazer; six grandchildren: Jose Antonio Plata, Jasmine Tiana Plata, Angela Renee Mendez, Marcos Daniel Plata, Ezekiel Chavez, Krista Guerra; five great-grandchildren: Jose Leonardo Plata, Ismael Rene Tena, Jr., Annelise Borunda, Javier Borunda, Ariella Borunda, also many nieces and nephews.

José was born in Torreon, Coahuila, Mexico. At the age of 18 he made his way to New Mexico. He met his wife Martha four years later. After a few months they were married. They had 3 children. In 1994 he became an official U.S. Citizen. He worked hard to achieve all his dreams.

He was the type of man that would help those in need without hesitation. He loved, cared, and had respect for everyone no matter what or how they lived their life. He had a heart of gold and will be truly missed. He will forever live on in the hearts of his family and friends.

This isn't goodbye. We will all be reunited with him someday. Until we meet again...

Pallbearers will be Jose Manuel Plata, Jose Antonio Plata, Adrian Plata, Alejandro Plata, Oscar Plata, and Samuel Elliott.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Jose Jesús Plata, Jasmine Tiana Plata, Angela Renee Mendez, and Ezekiel Chavez.
