Juanita "Juana" Abeyta

Our loving mother, grandmother, sister, and friend Juanita “Juana” A. Abeyta left this world peacefully with her beloved family by her side on Sunday, January 9, 2022, at the age of 75.

Juana is survived by her children: Daniel Sanchez and wife Heather, Dennis Sanchez, Stephanie Jaramillo (Smith), Russell Smith and wife Janelle; grandchildren: Feliciana, Deven, Nicholas, Julian, Jayla, Russell, Mya, Arya; siblings Celestino, Dolores and husband Miguel, Alejandro and wife Doris, Louisa and husband Joe, Margaret; also many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was born in Los Angeles, California to Julian and Frances Abeyta on July 21, 1946. Juana graduated from Albuquerque High School and received an Associates degree in Early Childhood from CNM. She retired from Siemens and Bernalillo County where she made many good friends.  She loved spending time with her grandchildren, baking cookies, making messes in the kitchen and cooking tamales for Christmas.  Mama, Grandma, and Auntie Juana, loved to spoil her kids, grandkids, and nieces and nephews who adore her with all their hearts.  She was the most giving and generous human even when she had nothing to give.

Juana's Life Celebration will begin with a Visitation on Monday, January 24, 2022 at 5:00pm inside the Reflection of Life® Chapel of Reflections Funerals & Life Celebrations/Salazar Funeral Homes & Crematory located at 2400 Washington St. NE, 87110. Rosary will be recited at 7:00pm. Mass will be held on Tuesday, January 25, 2022 at 9:00 am at Shrine of the Little Flower St. Therese of the Infant Jesus Catholic Church located at 3424 Fourth St. NW, 87107. Juana will be laid to rest following the Mass at Mount Calvary locate at 1900 Edith Blvd NE, 87102. Reception will follow at the Moose lodge located at 2121 Edith Blvd NE, 87102.

If desired, friends and family may make food or flower contributions for the services.
