Julian 'Juice' Saavedra

July 4, 1947 — March 1, 2017

Julian D. Saavedra, Jr. "Juice", age 69, who was a life-long resident of Albuquerque, New Mexico, passed away on March 1, 2017 surrounded by his beloved family.

Julian, loving father, is survived by his daughter, Camille; his son, Lucas and wife Jacki; grandson, Christopher and wife Jessica; two brothers: Albert and wife Dolly, and Nestor; two sisters: Marcella Lockhart and husband Glenn, and Ana Maghielse and husband Jim. Julian also had many nieces, nephews, and godchildren. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Suzanne, his parents: Julian and Maria, and his sister Palmira Sturino.

Julian served in the New Mexico Air National Guard as a Chief Master Sergeant for 38 Years. During his military service, he knew how to bring out the best in people. Those that worked for him loved him and because of this, he formed many long standing friendships with his fellow NM Air National Guard members.

Julian's Life Celebration will begin on Tuesday, March 7, 2017 with a Rosary at 9:00 am, followed by a Mass at 10:15 am both at Immaculate Conception Church (619 Copper Ave NW). He will be laid to rest at the Santa Fe National Cemetery on Wednesday, March 8, 2017 at 12:45 pm.
