Kathy Aragon "Ama Kassy"

Kathy Aragon "Ama Kassy", 72, went to be with our Lord on Wednesday, August 3, 2022, surrounded by her family.

She was preceded in death by her father William Shuldt, mother Alice Allen and brother Robert Shuldt.

Kathy is survived by her husband of 54 years Richard Aragon; sons: Matthew Aragon (Christine), Gregory Aragon (Judy), Daniel Aragon (Andrea); daughters: Leslie VanWormer (Patrick), Elizabeth Garcia; brother Mike Shuldt (Shawna); sister Laurie Shuldt; grandchildren: Jacob Perea, Andrew Aragon, Isabella Aragon, Libby Aragon, Andrew VanWormer, Briana Boisvert, Cassandra VanWormer, Danielle VanWormer, Richard McGuinness, Jude McGuinness and Vincent McGuinness.

Kathy was born on Thursday, November 3, 1949 in Alamosa, Colorado. She and Richard began their lives together in the fall of 1965. She received her high school equivalency from Albuquerque High School in 1972. She had an eventful life working and learning for places and businesses such as the Terrace Twin Drive-In. She graduated from beauty school in California and returned to Albuquerque to work for JCPenney's Salon. She later worked as a private investigator, she assisted in the meat department of a local grocery store and by August 1985, she became president of Aragon's Lawn and Wood Center until it's closure in 2022.

Her passion in life was her family. She would much rather sit and visit with family and friends than go somewhere on vacation. She enjoyed being an active member of Calvary Chapel's Connect Group. She loved listening to Christian radio programming and prayer for anyone needing prayers. She was known for taking in anyone needing a place to stay. Her favorite quotes were, "Oh I see", "Okaaayyy", "I'm fine", and "I know huh too."

Kathy's Life Celebration will begin with a Visitation on Thursday, August 18, 2022 at 10:00am at Calvary Church Albuquerque located at 4001 Osuna Rd NE, 87109. Service will begin at 11:00am. Kathy will be laid to rest at 2:30pm the Santa Fe National Cemetery located at 501 N Guadalupe St, Santa Fe 87501. Reception will follow.

Pallbearers will be Matthew Aragon, Gregory Aragon, Daniel Aragon, Patrick VanWormer, Jacob Perea and Richard McGuinness.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Jude McGuinness, Andrew Aragon, Vicente McGuinness, David Jarosz, Isabell Aragon, Libby Aragon, Andrew VanWormer, Briana Boisvert and Cassandra VanWormer.
