They are survived by children Larrison Castillo, Celeste Neri, Ophelia Castillo, LeWayne Castillo, Eli Castillo and 17 grandchildren who they loved deeply.
Born and raised in the small town of Torreon, Larry and Christine's lives were a testament to their shared values and passions. Christine, a retired healthcare worker and ordained minister, dedicated her life to helping people and sharing the gospel and spreading the message of love and salvation. Larry, with his hands skilled in ranching, mechanics, and a retired railroad track engineer, worked tirelessly, driven by a spirit of kindness and humility. Together, they created a home that was full of warmth and generosity.
Torreón held a special place in their hearts, as it was the community where all their relatives resided. It was in this vibrant community that Larry and Christine's interests flourished. Christine's passion and love for animals were well known, while Larry's preference for ranch life were unmatched. Their annual trips, always to a new and exciting destination, became a cherished tradition, eagerly anticipated by the entire family. Their commitment to their church was unwavering, and their charity work was a reflection of their deep faith. Larry often lent his mechanical skills to those in need, fixing cars for those who couldn't afford repairs, while Christine's ministry reached out to touch countless lives.
As foster parents, they opened their hearts and home, providing love and guidance to their extended children Ron, Jr., Rhonda, Nessa, Londa, and the late Vernelle. Raising their children and being present for their grandchildren was the cornerstone of Larry and Christine's lives. They instilled in their family the values of compassion, service, and faith. Christine's purpose in life was to share the gospel with others, while Larry's was to work out of kindness and to demonstrate humbleness in every action. Their hobbies were a reflection of their personalities. Their home was a symbol of their life's journey. Larry and Christine were known for their kind and gentle spirits, always having the right words to say in any situation. Their generosity knew no bounds, and their gentle demeanor was a comfort to all who knew them.
The words that best describe them are kind, gentle, generous and patient, but they only scratch the surface of the impact they had on their family and community. As we bid farewell to Larry and Christine Castillo, we celebrate the remarkable lives they led and the countless ways they enriched the lives of those around them. Their legacy will continue to live on in the hearts of their loved ones and in the community that they served so selflessly.
