Lavona Mae Smith

Lavona Mae Smith a resident of Albuquerque, New Mexico for 62 years passed away at home on October 10, 2017 after a long battle with Alzheimer's. She is survived by her husband of 56 years, L.J.Smith: Son's, Martin D. Smith (Lisa), David H Smith (Yolanda), Dennis J Smith (Kelly), Jeffrey A Smith (Victoria). 6 Grandchildren and 4 Great Grandchildren.
Lavona was an employee of Albuquerque Public Schools for 27 years as an Educational Assistant at Whittier Elementary School in Southeast Albuquerque. Lavona was also an active member of a local TOP's chapter for 30+ years. Lavona was a woman that had a heart for all children, and people in general. She never met a person that she didn't care for their welfare or well-being.
In lieu of flowers please make a donation to the New Mexico Chapter of the Alzheimer's Association in Lavona's name. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, November 11, 2017 at 2:00 pm at Reflections Life Celebrations at 2400 Washington St. NE. Albuquerque NM 87110
