Leroy Lopez

Leroy Lopez, age 61, of Albuquerque, NM, was called home to be with our Lord on Tuesday, May 3, 2016.

Leroy was born in Albuquerque, NM on February 1, 1955. He was the 13th out of 14 children. Leroy is preceded in death by his parents Vidal and Trinidad Lopez; his brothers Leandro Lopez, Henry Lopez and Mike Lopez; his sisters Judy Correa and his beautiful granddaughter MariCruz Cuevas.

He is survived by his daughters Judi Adams and husband James, Patricia (Trish) Anzures and fiancAC. David Reno, Stephanie Barreras and husband Fransisco, Alisha Cuevas and fiancAC. Ray Gutierrez and Lindsey Lopez; his brothers and sisters Perfie Lopez and wife Flora, Ida Montano, Vidal Lopez Jr. and wife Ruth, Jake Lopez and wife Mela, Christina Gallegos and husband Freddy, Juan Lopez, Josie Lucero and husband Richard, Eddie Lopez and wife Margi, Will (Wolf) Lopez and by a very special lady, Tina Mendoza. He had 18 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and lots and lots and lots of nieces and nephews.

In his life he loved spending time with his family especially playing basketball and softball with his brothers and nephews. He loved Sunday at his parents' house when his kids were younger, this is where the family would meet, brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews would get together and play horseshoes and his mom would always have food cooking. His biggest and most precious things in life were his daughters, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was an avid die hard Dallas Cowboys fan who gave it just as good as he took it. He loved and spent most of this life with his younger brother "the warden" (Will), whom he lived with till he made his journey home.

The pallbearers will be Cisco Barreras, Ray Gutierrez, Estevan Lucero, Eddie Lopez, Sean Duran and Richard Aguirre. Honorary pallbearers will be Ricardo Escuerdo, Daniel Lopez, Randy Torrez, Catherine Barreras, Maria Cuevas, Will Lopez and Jovannah Adams.

Leroy's Life Celebration will begin with a Visitation on Friday, May 13, 2016 at 9:30 a.m. at Salazar Mortuary, located at 400 3rd St. SW, Albuquerque, New Mexico 87102, followed by a Rosary at 10:30 a.m. and a Service at 11:00 a.m. The Family would like to invite guests to a Reception following services at the Cesar Chavez Community Center located at 7505 Kathryn Ave. SE, Albuquerque, NM 87108.
