Lt. Col. Lawrence (Larry) Reimann Usaf Ret.

July 27, 1935 — December 3, 2020

Lt. Col. Lawrence (Larry) Reimann USAF ret.

Lawrence Reimann, 85, passed from this life peacefully on Thursday, December 3, 2020, while at home, with his wife Carol at his side.

Larry is survived by his three sons: John, Greg (Stacy), and Steve (Nancy), along with 10 grandchildren: Ethan, Erin, Michael, Darren, Geoffrey (Katie), Josiah (Jenna), Katie, Jordan, James and Jaden, and 10 great grandchildren: Jaxon, Kennedi, Kinsleigh, Wesley, Willow, Wiley, Anna, Piper, Calvin, and Asher. Larry also has two surviving sisters: Sue Coffey and Carol Mummy as well as several nieces and nephews.

A graduate of Brocton Central H.S., Brocton, N.Y., Larry enlisted in the U.S. Navy directly out of high school.  He trained and served as an Electronics Technician, much of the time in the Far East on the USS Pittsburgh. Shortly after discharge he continued his education at E.J. Meyer Memorial School of Nursing in Buffalo, N.Y.; USAF CRNA (certified register nurse anesthetist) program at Lackland AFB, TX; and the University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, PA.

It was in nursing school that Larry and Carol met and married shortly before graduation. A year later, Larry began his 26-year Air Force career serving his country with assignments throughout the country and a year in Vietnam. After retiring from the Air Force he worked as an anesthetist at Lovelace Hospital in Albuquerque for several years.

Larry's greatest joys were times spent with family, whether it was camping in the Jemez with family and friends, being tour guide of the Southwest for houseguests, visiting historic sites wherever he was at the time, and probably most of all fishing and boating with his sons during his 4-year tour of duty in Alaska.

Larry will be remembered by his large extended family and many friends throughout the country as a humble, kind, and caring husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend. And in addition to that a walking, talking encyclopedia who could converse with most anyone on whatever subject the other person might be interested in.

Lawrence's Life Celebration and interment at the Santa Fe National Cemetery will take place at a later date.
