Lucy Tafoya

Lucy Tafoya went to be with our Lord on Friday, March 31, 2023.

She was predeceased by her husband of 60 years. Also, Priscilla, Adela, Eufie, Eloida, Ruth, Elsa, Frutoso, Joe, Ernest, Agapito, and Eloy.

She is survived by her son Raymond Tafoya; daughters: Patricia Benavides and husband Michael, Pauline Sisneros and husband John, Irene Madrid; sister Gloria Saiz; nine grandchildren; and eleven great-grandchildren.

Lucy was a woman who loved God with her whole being. She was a strong prayer warrior for her family and friends, many of whom came to her for advice and guidance. She was active in multiple ministries at her church including being a Lector, a Eucharistic Minister, Marriage Enrichment and being part of the Prayer Chain for those in need. She was always willing to listen and make time for those she knew.  She loved music and was always singing a little tune.  She also loved to cook for everyone.  She made the best sopapillas, tortillas and homemade bread. She enjoyed the outdoors and traveling also. And, last but not least, her walks with her husband and neighbors was a must.

We will all miss her positivity and compassion for others.

Lucy's Life Celebration will be held on Tuesday, April 11, 2023 at12:00 pm at Salazar Mortuary located at 400 Third St. SW, 87102. A rosary will be recited on April 12, 2023 starting at 9:30 a.m. with a mass to follow at 10:15 a.m. at St. Jude Thaddeus Catholic Church located at 5712 Paradise Blvd NW Albuquerque, NM 87114. Inurnment will take place at Mount Calvary Cemetery following the mass.
