Manuel "Manny" Archuleta, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away on Wednesday, June 26, 2024, in Albuquerque, New Mexico, at the age of 88.
He was preceded in death by his wife Bernice Archuleta, mother Merlinda Otero; brothers: Joe Otero, Arturo Archuleta; sisters: Elvira Romo, and Julia Martinez.
Manny is survived by his sister Flor Romero; sons: Manny “Lucky” Archuleta (Rose), Ray Archuleta; daughters: Annette Archuleta, Loretta Rivera (Sam); grandchildren: Jessica Grauf, Stephanie Rivera, Erica Jinzo, Dominic Archuleta, Tanya Hosford, Naomi Ramirez; great-grandchildren: Mya Jiron, Serena Lucero, Damien Grauf, Scarlett Rivera-Apodaca, Jason Schafer, Brody Jinzo, Lily Jinzo, Dante Jinzo, Elijah Ramirez, Ezra Ramirez, Ezekiel Ramirez, Emma Ramirez, and one great-great-grandchild: Nathan Katsuleas
Manny was born on March 3, 1936, in Las Vegas, New Mexico, his life was a testament to his enduring love for his family, his country, and the simple joys that life had to offer. Manny's youthful spirit and zest for life were evident in his diverse interests. A proud veteran, he dedicated many years to the Army, serving his country with honor and distinction. His commitment to fellow servicemen and women continued long after his military service ended, as he actively participated in the Disabled American Veterans (DAV) organization, advocating for veterans' rights and support.
An avid sportsman, Manny found solace and excitement in the great outdoors, whether he was golfing on a crisp morning, casting a line into a serene lake, or tracking game in the quiet of the woods. His love for competition extended to the lanes of the bowling alley and the felt-covered tables of the pool hall, where he shared laughter and camaraderie with friends and family.
