Maria Inez Sanchez

Maria Inez Sanchez , 66, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, January 11, 2020.

Maria Inez was born in Rodeo, Durango, Mexico on January 28, 1953. She obtained her GED from TVI and later continued to work towards a degree in Young Children’s Education and Development from CNM.

Maria Inez was married to Julian Joseph Sanchez, on April 29, 1975; they were married for 16 years.

Maria Inez worked in multiple industries including, Mission Tortilla Co., Levis Strauss and finally in education for YDI Headstart in Albuquerque, NM. She was a hard worker and dedicated her life to the service of others. Some of her happiest times were during her 20-year career as a teacher.

Maria Inez was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister and aunt. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, and baking. Her greatest joy came from spending time with and caring for her family. She was a strong, motivated, self-sufficient woman who was always quick to lend a hand no matter the situation.

Maria Inez is survived by daughter, Jeannette J. Sanchez, grandchildren, Julian A. Sanchez and David J. Arriola, sister, Maria Pilar Jurado, sister, Eulogia Marrufo, sister, Maria Del Refugio, brother, Alfonso Pedroza, sister, Natividad Payan, brother Delfino Pedroza.

Maria Inez is preceded in death by father, Delfino Pedroza, mother, Virginia Quinonez, husband, Julian J. Sanchez, sister, Rosa Anastacia Pedroza, brother, Jeronimo Pedroza, brother, Lucio Pedroza.

Maria's Life Celebration will begin with a Visitation on Thursday, January 16, 2020 from 5:00 pm - 6:30 p.m. at Salazar Mortuary located at 400 Third St SW, 87102. Rosary will be recited following Visitation. at 6:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, January 17, 2020 at 9:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church located 1860 Griegos Rd NW, 87107. Burial will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery located 1900 Edith Blvd NE, 87102.
