Loving wife, daughter, sister, and mother, Marlena T. Garcia Lovato passed away on Sunday, December 6, 2020 at the age of 36.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents: Jose Gregorio Lovato Jr. and Juanita Herrera-Lovato; Joe Benny Gutierrez, Rosemary Gutierrez, Albert P Garcia, Gloria Torrez-Scanlon, Bravlia Garcia; her aunt Cynthia Gutierrez and her uncles: Ronald Gutierrez and Ralph "Sonny" Green.
She is survived by her husband Pete Garcia; parents: Anthony and Gloria Lovato; step-parents: Robert Sanchez and Nicole Gonzales; her sister Robin Lovato; sister-in-law Emily Trujillo, brother-in-law Rick Scanlon; four children: Anthony I. Lovato, Fabian Garcia, Micaela Garcia, and Pete Garcia, Jr.; along with many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, friends and extended family.
Marlena was born on January 23, 1984 in Albuquerque, New Mexico. She was in the process of obtaining her degree for Forensic Pathology. She was a huge classic rock fan.
Marlena was well known for her beautiful smile and contagious laughter.
Marlena loved her family very much and will forever be in our hearts. May she rest in peace in the loving arms of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Marlena's Life Celebration will begin with a Visitation on Friday, January 8, 2021 from 8:00am - 12:30pm at Salazar Mortuary located at 400 Third St. SW, 87102. Mass will begin at 1:00pm at St. Joseph on the Rio Grande Catholic Church located at 5921 St. Josephs Dr. NW, 87120. Burial will follow at Mount Calvary Cemetery located at 1900 Edith Blvd. NE, 87102 at 2:30pm.
Mass will be live-streamed via Salazar Mortuary Facebook page - you do NOT need a Facebook account to view the service. To access the livestream, please click the link below at the scheduled time.
Due to the COVID restrictions set in place by the Governor masks are MANDATORY to attend Marlena's Visitation, Mass, and Burial. Salazar Mortuary has a capacity of 5people allowed inside at one time. We ask that everyone wait INSIDE of their vehicles until we are ready for the next group to come in. The church currently has a capacity of 125 people. Mount Calvary Cemetery can only allow 5people to be at the grave side and asks that all other attendees wear their masks, stand back, and practice social distancing.
