Melody Gomez

Melody Gomez, a vibrant soul with a smile brighter than any sunny sky, left us far too soon on Saturday, January 6, 2024. At only 23, she filled her life with so many memories of adventure, laughter, and friendship.

She is preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Graciela Ramirez and Marcos Armando Gomez Ordaz, fraternal grandfather Andy Martinez; uncle Andrew Martinez, as well as her younger sister, Jordanie Gomez.

Melody is survived by her mother Martha Gomez; father Randall Martinez; step mother Nancy Satarain. She also leaves behind her siblings, Christina Gomez, Brandy Martinez, Diamond Lewis, Marcos Muñoz, Hector Muñoz, and Achilles Muñoz.

From the bleachers of her schools to the aisles of clothing stores, Mel knew how to find joy in every pursuit. Her talent wasn't limited to her agility and determination – she held the unique ability to befriend just about anyone, leaving a trail of giggles and lasting connections wherever she went.

While the pain of her absence is great, we find solace in the vibrant memories she leaves behind. Every perfectly winged cat-eye, every roaring cheer, and every spontaneous burst of laughter echoes her infectious spirit. She may be gone, but the light she ignited in our hearts will burn on.

Melody’s Life Celebration will begin with a Visitation on Monday, January 15, 2024, at 10:00 am at Salazar Mortuary located at 400 Third St SW, 87102. A rosary will be recited at 11:00 a.m.  Service will begin at 11:30 a.m. Melody will be laid to rest following the service at Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery located at 924 Menaul Blvd NE, 87107. Reception will follow the graveside inside Salazar Mortuary’s Life Event Center.
